Continental. Old world style hotel and restaurant. Aside from excellent dining, the well-stocked cigar humidor offers by far the best selection of cigars on the East End. Watch for periodic cigar tastings and events (the fact that this is a hotel allows them to be more flexible with smoking laws). Charming, but the service is occasionally less refined than the prices and surroundings would dictate. Bar menu available from noon to 11:00pm 7 days a week. Full liquor license; indoor bar, cocktail lounge, cigar smoking room, outdoor cocktail porch.

Thai. This family style roadhouse in Noyac features a very informal dining room and a separate even more informal bar area. Service is equally informal, perhaps too much so. The Thai specialties are good. They need to be, as neither the decor (or total lack of decor) nor the aforementioned service would bring in a repeat customer.

Pizzeria; Italian. Family restaurant featuring possibly the best portions of the best pasta on the East end; certainly the best Fettucine Alfredo in the world (including Alfredo's). Hidden behind your typical pizzeria (serving good pizza) is a charming dining room: that wonderful little neighborhood Italian restaurant that takes all the effort out of dining out, without sacrificing good food/atmosphere. Casual dress by all means.

Northern Italian. Unassuming locally popular family-style restaurant on the edge of Sag Harbor's shopping district. The more casual sister restaurant to Il Monastero in East Hampton. Open 5:30pm to 10:30pm (5:30pm to 11:00pm on weekends) for dinner only, 7 days a week, all year. AE, MC, V. Entree price range: $9.95 to $19.95. Reservations not accepted; full liquor license; no sit-down bar; take-out menu available.

Japanese. Probably the best sushi and sashimi bar on the East End. Also, fairly complete Japanese menu includes tempura, teriyaki, curries, and grilled tuna. Try their chirashi (very nice selection of sashimi over sushi rice). Excellent not-very-Japanese seafood chowders. No credit cards. Casual dress.
