Mornings at Marshview offer an ever changing kaleidoscope of mists, shadows and seasonal colors which make every day an eagerly awaited visual treat, especially for the early riser.

A relaxing afternoon on the back porch might reward you with a close up view of a Bald Eagle majestically gliding over the marsh as it fishes for a meal. Deer, racoons, fox and possum are frequent visitors, and, with a little patience, can usually be encountered at early morning and dusk sallying forth, or returning from their nightly rounds. Paying attention to the visitors to the bird feeders scattered throughout the premises can treat you to a wide variety of colorful species indigenous to the Low Country. The premises adjoins an 18 hole public Golf Course and Equestrian Center which hosts seasonal polo matches (Spring & Fall) and the annual Charleston Cup steeple chase race (November). On site activities include golf, crabbing, fishing, canoeing, biking and watching the parade of boats cruising by on the Stono River (ICW).

Downtown Charleston is an easily accessible 30 min. drive on Hwy 17 North for shopping on King Street, dining in the city's many fine seafood and low country cuisine restaurants, historic house tours, carriage rides and ghost walks. A trip to the Battery is a must, as well as a boat ride to Fort Sumter, the site where the Civil War began. No trip to Charleston is complete without visiting the old slave market and nearby shops where local artisans sell hand crafted goods, the South Carolina State Aquarium and a Harbor Cruise for a dolphin's eye view of the WWII aircraft Carrier Yorktown and the new Cooper River Bridge.
