About Our Organization

President Henry C. Uihlein Jr.
The Kiwanis Club of East Hampton (Suffolk County, Long Island, New York) is comprised of members from East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk, Sag Harbor, Springs, Southampton and Water Mill.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Southampton, the Club's first meeting was held at the Buoy Restaurant (now Wei Fun) on July 8, 1985. The charter officers were Richard C. Hoadley, President; Rudolph S. DeSanti, Vice President; Peter C. Osborne, Second Vice President; Robert W. Cummings, Secretary; and John Kehoe, Treasurer. The charter Directors were William Brinkman, Jr., Ward A. Freese, Bernard Kiembock, William G. Ritter, and Robert E. Smith. Of the thirty-three charter members, ten are still active.

The club has become well recognized in the local community for its involvement in little league and senior league baseball, Toys for Tots, college scholarships, senior citizen programs, Meals on Wheels, The Montauk Grand Slam, support for a myriad of local youth projects and fund raising and support activities. Because of its established reputation for always lending a helping hand, The East Hampton Kiwanis Club is often the first organization on the East End to be contacted when there is a community need. We are proud of our community, and are extremely proud of the support we provide to those who live, work and raise their families here.
